Amazon’s Exclusive Prime Moto G5 Plus Has A Security Flaw

Amazon’s  Prime  Exclusive  Moto G5 Plus  has a security flaw baked into a lockscreen ad making it easier than one would think to bypass the lockscreen and get into the phone. The process is actually rather simple which perhaps makes the whole thing more alarming. According to users who have the Prime Exclusive Moto G5 Plus as well as the Prime Exclusive Moto G5, the process starts by trying to unlock the phone with the fingerprint sensor, and once the sensor doesn’t recognize the fingerprint, you can press the power button and then tap on the button on-screen that says view lockscreen ad, which leads to the phone granting access to the user and the lock being bypassed. Motorola confirms list of Moto phones receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

The Android 8.0 Oreo update was released last month, but so far only a handful of devices have received the update. In the meantime, companies like HTC, Sonyand Nokia confirmed which of their devices will be updated to the latest version of Android. Today, Motorola joins that list of companies, with the Android 8.0 Oreo update confirmed for several devices across its line-up. The Lenovo-owned company won’t be updating the Moto G4 series and older generation Moto X series devices. For a brief recap, the Moto G4 series was launched last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Motorola has rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for these devices earlier this year. Motorola launches Moto Mods in India, sale from Dec 17; rent out option at just Rs 399 per week

Motorola is launching its flagship product, Moto Mods, that was promoted by the brand a while back alongside the Moto Z2 Play. The three new Moto Mods are – JBL SoundBoost 2 speaker Mod, TurboPower Pack battery Mod and GamePad Mod. The three Mods in question are expected to go on sale exclusively on  Flipkart  from December 17 onwards. According to Indian Express, the brand has also thought of renting out the Mods at Rs 399 per week from RentMojo, with whom Motorola has entered into a partnership and the service will be available across top 8 metro cities in India. The Moto Mods can be seen as an extension and are cases of the MotoZ family.
