Four tips for taking delectable food photos with Pixel 2

Image
1. Document every delicious detail with Portrait Mode From a single current to the perfect drop of icing, Portrait Mode makes it possible to capture the finest details of your food concoctions. Try getting close to the subject—this amplifies the background blur effect to create a striking photo. 2. Use Slow Motion to capture mouthwatering videos Slow Motion shoots a high number of frames per second and you can adjust which parts of the videos to slow down, so a lot less editing is required. I love shooting videos of pouring drinks or chopping fruit—between the high sound quality and slow motion, I can capture enticing food envy footage for Instagram! 3. Shoot in all kinds of lighting If you’re taking photos outdoors on a sunny day, shoot in the shade so that the photo color is more saturated and less overexposed. In overall low-light settings, the wider aperture can allow more light into the camera, making getting a clear photo a breeze. You often don’t even need to use...

Google Pixel 2: A challenge to bigger flagships

Image
The Pixel 2, global technology major Google’s latest smartphone offering, is no masterpiece when it comes to design. But the smaller sibling of the duo in Pixel’s next-generation series exceeds expectations in terms of performance and imaging capabilities. A powerful device with a compact body form, the Pixel 2 feels solid in hand and premium in aesthetics. The smartphone also boasts some clever algorithms from Google that learn the user’s usage pattern and improve the camera performance to match the results, or even exceed in some cases, of smartphones with dual cameras. When compared with the Pixel 2 XL, this smartphone looks small and lets go of the 18:9 aspect ratio screen for a tradition 16:9 screen with fullHD resolution of 1920 x 1080. There are huge bezels on top and bottom – something reminiscent of HTC smartphones – that house powerful front-facing stereo speakers. Just like the Pixel 2 XL, the back side of the Pixel 2 is also bland, with a higher top covered with glos...

The camera not only outshines in terms of performance, it also takes away the title of ‘best camera in mobile phone’ from Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. According to DxO mark review, the Pixel 2 smartphones score an impressive 98 points out of 100, which is 9 points more than yesteryear’s Google Pixel and 4 points more than dual camera clad ...
