Airtel TV App Revamped, Content Catalogue Available Free Till June 2018

Indian telecom giant Airtel has launched a new version of the Airtel TV app on Android and iOS platforms. The app's refreshed catalogue of over 300 live TV channels and 6,000 movies and global TV shows will be made available on a free subscription basis to Airtel prepaid and postpaid users, until June 2018.

Airtel is rolling out a new version of its Airtel TV app on both mobile platforms (Android, iOS). Expanding its content catalogue, the Airtel TV app will now offer 300 plus live TV channels across genres such as GEC, movies, news, etc. The app also has access to over 6,000 Bollywood and Hollywood blockbusters and numerous other Indian and international TV shows. Content from partners like HOOQ, Eros Now, and Sony Liv will also be available free of cost until June 2018, a company spokesperson has confirmed to Gadgets 360.

The new version of the Airtel TV app comes with UI upgrades as well. Users can now search for content through smart search filters across languages, ratings, genres, and even other content partners. This is especially useful as the app now offers content in 15 languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Odia, French, and Urdu.

The Scroll Back feature allows viewers to scroll back to previous shows on live TV for up to seven days for select shows.

Commenting on the launch, Sameer Batra, CEO - Wynk said, "We are thrilled to introduce the latest version of Airtel TV with great content and an improved, intuitive User Interface. The improvements to the app are a result of constantly listening to our customers and taking their feedback to the design table. We believe that we have built an app for India's needs and backed it with a large and exciting content catalogue to serve the fastest growing screen - the smartphone."
